St Albans Dinamo’s momentum from their historic midweek victory against South Melbourne Hellas couldn’t carry them through against table-toppers Avondale FC, as they suffered a 4-1 defeat despite taking an early lead.
Josh Divin put Dinamo ahead in the 25th minute, sending the home supporters into raptures. The underdogs managed to protect their slender advantage until halftime, though signs were already emerging that Avondale had more to offer. The league leaders stepped up their performance after the break, eventually finding an equalizer in the 65th minute. Once level, Avondale showed their quality by taking the lead in the 81st minute before adding two more goals in the closing stages to complete a comprehensive comeback.

For Dinamo, what started as a potential second upset in a week ended in disappointment as they were unable to maintain their early momentum against the championship contenders.
Dinamo will look to bounce back when they travel to Jack Edwards Reserve this Friday, March 14th, to face Oakleigh Cannons with kick-off scheduled for 8:15 PM.
