On Monday, April 7, 2025, the Croatian Catholic Women’s Group at HKC Sv. Antun in Summer Hill held their monthly meeting. The event featured a special presentation by Ivica Glasnović, the General consul for Croatia in Sydney.
The event was a significant occasion for the group, offering an enriching experience for all those in attendance.
The Croatian Catholic Women’s Group at HKC Sv. Antun gathers on the first Monday of each month from 7:15 PM to 9:30 PM. This gathering is open to women of all ages, fostering a welcoming space for connection, reflection, and spiritual growth.
The group consists of about 200 women, who stay connected through a messaging platform. They share prayer intentions, faith-related content, and news about Catholic events happening both locally and within the Archdiocese. Approximately 30 to 40 women attend each monthly meeting. Attendance depends on their schedules, making it a warm and intimate setting for sisterhood.
Founded over five years ago, the Croatian Catholic Women’s Group has been a valuable support system. It allows women to come together, pray, and learn about their faith. The group is guided by the spiritual direction of Fra Davor Filko OFM. His wisdom and guidance have been integral to the group’s growth and success.
Informative talk on Holy Week in this sacred region

The April meeting featured a truly special guest speaker: Ivica Glasnović. He was invited to share his knowledge and experiences of the Holy Land. Ivica had lived in the Holy Land and studied theology with the Franciscans in his younger years. Thus, he presented an insightful and informative talk on Holy Week in this sacred region. His deep understanding of the spiritual and historical significance of the Holy Land captivated the audience. He took them on a virtual pilgrimage, highlighting key biblical sites and their profound connections to Christian faith.

What truly stood out during Ivica’s presentation was not only the wealth of knowledge he shared but also his visible love for God. His love and faith and his experiences living and studying in the Holy Land shone brightly through his words. It was an inspiring moment for all the women present. They were deeply moved by Ivica’s genuine devotion and his ability to connect biblical history with personal experience.
The next meeting of the Croatian Catholic Women’s Group will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 7:15 PM. Women of all ages are warmly invited to attend. They can participate in the group’s prayers and enjoy the sisterhood and spiritual growth that these gatherings offer.
We look forward to seeing you there!
