Excitement is fast approaching fever pitch in Melbourne this week, with news that the St Albans Dinamo Football Club’s 50th Anniversary Gala evening has officially sold out!
With more than 750 guests expected at the glittering event on Saturday 12th of July at the Croatian Catholic Centre Sunshine, the night is set to be a truly memorable celebration. The club’s rich history and community spirit will be showcased. This will highlight the legacy of St. Albans Dinamo.
“The evening will feature special interviews with founding members, former presidents, and past players. It will offer a unique look back at the people who helped shape St. Albans Dinamo over the decades,” revealed one of the event’s key organisers, Stela Špoljar.
Waiting list created
According to Špoljar, coordinator of the club’s special 50th Gala Organising Committee, all available tickets have been sold. Furthermore, a waiting list has been created to manage the overwhelming interest in St. Albans Dinamo’s celebration.
“The club is now putting names on a waiting list. However, there is no guarantee of additional tickets being made available,” she revealed.
“Although the venue has the capacity to accommodate more guests, the back section will be cordoned off for a historical display. There will also be additional bars and sponsor highlights. These are dedicated to celebrating St. Albans Dinamo’s journey.
“A visual presentation will also be showcased, highlighting key moments from the club’s 50-year journey,” explained Špoljar.
Memorabilia Appeal at ‘Cro Derby’
In preparation for the gala celebration in July, Dinamo officials are calling on club supporters to contribute any photos or memorabilia they may have. This is for an upcoming Memorabilia Appeal, which will add to the St. Albans Dinamo legacy.
“These items will help bring the club’s history to life during the gala. They will also be featured in the 50th anniversary book, to be published later this year,” said Spoljar.
The Memorabilia Appeal will be held at Dinamo’s Churchill Reserve clubrooms. It will take place prior to an upcoming NPL Victoria home fixture in mid-May.
“If you’d like to share something, you’re encouraged to bring it along to the big ‘Croatian Derby’ match. This event will be between Dinamo and sister club Dandenong City Hajduk on Sunday May 18th, from 12 pm onwards,” added Špoljar.
