New posthumous album by Oliver released in Croatia

Major Croatian music label Aquarius Records this week released a posthumous Oliver Dragojević album. It features twelve never before released songs by the late music icon.

The album’s release involved two years of producers meticulously collecting and listening to material. This material was composed by the legendary Oliver, who passed away in 2018 following a year-long battle with lung cancer.

According to a music review article in leading Croatian online entertainment portal, Journal.hr, it is hard to believe that nearly seven years have passed since Oliver Dragojević’s departure.

“It is hard to believe because his memory lives on in his music, in his image and his works,” stated the article. These elements will never be forgotten.

Twelve previously unpublished songs

The new album, ‘Dolaziš’ consists of twelve previously unpublished songs. These songs will undoubtedly delight the numerous fans of the legendary musician worldwide.

Many hours were invested in the careful selection of compositions. Producers recalled and took into consideration all of Oliver’s comments and instructions. They aimed to ensure that every song would meet the approval of the famous musician from Vela Luka.

Compositions that have already made their way onto music streaming platforms are included on the album. They include ‘Ne mogu ti reći’ and ‘Vrime je’. Also included is the newly released title track ‘Dolaziš’, along with nine other songs that exude Oliver’s distinctive musical sensibility.

According to the Journal.hr article, the album is further enriched by significant musical collaborations. These collaborations are with highly regarded Dalmatian musicians like Tedi Spalato, Marijan Ban, and the Izvor Choir, Klapa Šufit, and Edo Bralić.

“After ‘Kad mi dođeš ti’, I composed ‘Dolaziš’, which Oliver recorded in a demo version way back in 2010,” the author of the title track, Vinko Barčot, told Journal.hr.

“I am happy that it was liked by the Dragojević family. After so many years, it has been released,” he added.

“I hope ‘Dolaziš’ reaches people and is listened to as fondly as the other songs from this album,” concluded Barčot.

The album ‘Dolaziš’, will be officially launched on July 28 in Vela Luka – the day before the traditional concert. The concert ‘Trag u beskraju’ will once again be held on the anniversary of Oliver’s passing. The album is now available for downloading on all leading internet streaming services.
