As Zagreb awaits the concert of the century, Australia celebrates in its own way
While Marko Perković Thompson counts down the days to his long-awaited concert of the century at Zagreb’s Hippodrome on Saturday, 5 July, preparations for what is set to be the world’s biggest commercial concert by number of tickets sold are well underway. The massive stage has been under construction for weeks. Streets and bridges will be closed, thousands of police officers are being deployed, and even helicopters are being readied to ensure safety.
But for those who won’t be able to attend in person, there’s still a chance to soak up the spirit of the event – all the way in Sydney. The Croatian club King Tom is hosting a special Thompson Night on the same evening, Saturday 5 July.
It’s going to be a night to remember!

The club promises an evening filled with Thompson’s biggest hits, Croatian pride, good vibes and a true sense of community. With DJ KT spinning the music, the night will offer a patriotic celebration. It will feel just like being in the front row of the Zagreb concert.
