The 76th edition of Croatia’s most renowned cultural festival will traditionally open with the ceremonial raising of the Libertas flag accompanied by verses from Gundulić’s Hymn to Freedom. The opening ceremony will take place on 10 July at 9 PM in front of St. Blaise’s Church, marking the beginning of 47 festival days filled with outstanding cultural content.

The festival will present over 70 dramatic, musical, dance, folk, and other programmes at various stage and ambient locations throughout the city of Dubrovnik. This prestigious event traditionally attracts international and domestic audiences, confirming Dubrovnik as one of Europe’s most important cultural centres.

310 Sinjska Alka – Living Medieval Tradition

Sinj, 1-3 August 2025

This UNESCO-protected event celebrating centuries-old chivalric tradition will unfold over three days of unforgettable happenings. The programme includes Bara (1 August), Čoja (2 August), and the main manifestation Alka (3 August).

This historic knightly tournament, dating from 1715, represents an exciting spectacle of equestrian skill, expertise, and tradition. Sinjska Alka is not merely a tourist attraction, but living heritage that connects the past with the present, preserving Croatia’s medieval history.
