Whether it’s a backyard feast or a community celebration, these Croatian favourites and new crowd-pleasers bring guaranteed fun for all ages.
1. Briškula

What it is: A traditional Croatian card game of bluffing and bold strategy, played with a 40-card deck.
Players: 2 – 4
How to Play:
- Each player is dealt 3 cards. One card is flipped to determine the trump suit (Briškula).
- Players take turns playing 1 card each. The highest card of the lead suit (or trump suit) wins the hand.
- The winner collects cards and draws new ones until the deck is empty.
- Card values (Ace = 11, 3 = 10, etc.) are tallied. Highest total wins!
2. Sedmice (Sevens)

Players: 2 – 4
Deck: 32 cards (remove 2s – 6s)
Goal: Win tricks and collect the most point cards (Aces, 10s, Kings)
How to play:
- Each player starts with 4 cards.
- Players take turns playing cards that match the value of the first card played.
- 7s are wild and can keep the trick going.
