In a commanding display at JH Allan Reserve last Saturday, Essendon Royals captain Graham Kelly delivered an exceptional performance, scoring all four goals in his side’s convincing 4-1 victory over North Geelong Warriors.
The Royals’ skipper was in devastating form from the outset, netting twice in the first half to give his team a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break. The Warriors struggled to contain Kelly’s clinical finishing and creative movement throughout the opening period. The second half followed a similar pattern, with Kelly completing his memorable four-goal haul.

While North Geelong managed to pull one goal back, it proved to be merely a consolation as the Royals’ superior class and determination shone through. The result highlighted the growing influence of Kelly, whose leadership and goal-scoring prowess continue to be instrumental in the Royals’ campaign.
For North Geelong, the defeat will prompt some soul-searching as they look to bounce back from this disappointing showing. The Warriors will have an opportunity to redeem themselves this Saturday, March 1st, when they host the Goulburn Valley Suns at home. Kick-off at Elcho Park is scheduled for 17:00.
