Dandy City Hajduk’s unbeaten start to the 2025 season came to an end as they fell to a 3-1 defeat against Hume City. After beginning the campaign with three consecutive draws, Hajduk tasted defeat for the first time this year in a match that saw a promising first half give way to a disappointing second period.

The match began evenly with both sides vying for control in the opening exchanges. It was Hajduk who struck first when George Lambadaridis was fouled just outside the 18-yard box. Lambadaridis stepped up himself to take the free kick and delivered a brilliant strike that beat both the wall and the goalkeeper, finding the top right corner to give the home side a 1-0 lead. The goal brought jubilation from the home supporters, and Hajduk maintained their advantage until halftime.

However, the second half told a different story as Hume City emerged with renewed vigour. The visitors equalised in the 68th minute before taking the lead just two minutes later through an unfortunate own goal. Kenny Athiu, attempting to clear a corner, mistakenly headed the ball into his own net. Hume City added a third goal following a clumsy defensive error to seal a 3-1 victory.

Dandy City Hajduk will be looking to bounce back and secure their first win of the 2025 campaign when they travel to Green Gully Reserve this Friday, March 7th. The match against Green Gully SC kicks off at 19:30.
