Driving Change – A recap from Jakob’s Day golf 2025

On Sunday the 13th of April 2025, the Ljubo and Anna Glavan hosted the 19th annual Jakob’s Day which was held at Mount Derrimut golf course.

Jakob’s Day is hosted in honour and memory of Jakob Glavan, with a goal to raise money for the Good Friday Appeal. This ultimately assists them with acquiring the most advanced equipment and technology to achieve the best possible outcome for children in the care of the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Starting with a BBQ breakfast in the late morning, all the golfers got ready for a 12:30 tee time. As all the players made their way around the 18 hole golf course, the Jakob’s Day team prepared ćevape and lepinje lunch for them, as well as putting together all of the raffle prizes which are generously donated every year.

As always, this golf day was a tremendous success, bringing together generous supporters, sponsors and participants, as well as beautiful weather and good spirited competition.

This year is an incredibly special year for Jakob’s Day, as they officially not only reached, but surpassed their $1 million goal.

From the beginning in 2006 to now, there has been an unwavering amount of love, care, and effort put into Jakob’s Day by the team, and it is truly an amazing thing. They have truly made such a difference in so many lives through this foundation, and it isn’t too late to contribute as well.

If you are willing and able, please look up ‘Jakob’s Day’ on Google, and you will find a website affiliated with the Good Friday Appeal, as well as the relevant Facebook page.

Your support has the power to change lives, every donation brings them one step closer to helping those who need it most.
