Happy Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia!
Today, we celebrate May 30, the day in 1990 when the first democratic parliament was constituted. This marked the beginning of the modern Croatia state. It’s a moment to remember all those who contributed to the freedom and independence of our homeland. Let’s work together for a better future.

On the occasion of today’s wonderful milestone, Brisbane’s Story Bridge will be illuminated this evening with the colours of the Croatian tricolour. This is the result of cooperation between the Consulate General of the Republic of Croatia in Sydney and the Office of the Mayor of Brisbane.
“I invite all of you—especially Croatians in Brisbane—to come and enjoy the spectacular lighting of the Story Bridge,” said Ivica Glasnović, Consul General of the Republic of Croatia in Sydney.
