In recent years, Michelin-Star Dining in Croatia has gained international recognition for both its tradition and innovation. From the coastline to inland, Croatia is now home to a growing number of Michelin starred restaurants, all offering a unique take on cuisine.

1. Restaurant Monte

Located: Rovinj, Istria

Cuisine: Modern European

Monte was Croatia’s first Michelin-starred restaurant. Head chef Danijel Đekić transformed his family restaurant into an imaginative fine dining destination rooted in Istrian ingredients.

Located in Rovinj’s old town, just below the Church of St. Euphemia, the restaurant is a romantic, intimate and refined dining experience.

2. Agli Amici

Located: Rovinj, Istria

Cuisine: Italian

Also located in Rovinj is the only Croatian restaurant with two Michelin stars. Led by chef Emanuele Scarello, Agli Amici brings Italian cuisine from Godia to Rovinj, creating a unique and unforgettable experience. There is no à la carte menu, but instead, two tasting menus, to offer visitors a carefully curated experience.

3. Alfred Keller

Located: Mali Lošinj, Kvarner Gulf

Cuisine: Modern European

Located in the elegant Alhambra Boutique Hotel, Alfred Keller showcases Croatia’s finest produce, fish and meat and the freshest natural ingredients sourced from the island of Lošinj.

4. Boškinac

Located: Novalja, Pag

Cuisine: Creative Regional

The beautiful Boškinac hotel, restaurant and winery is a celebration of Pag Island’s best specialities, prepared in a modern way.

The tasting menu tells a story of the island through flavour, presented with creativity and care. The restaurant also features a vineyard and a tranquil boutique hotel for visitors to enjoy.

5. Draga di Lovrana

Location: Lovran, Kvarner Gulf

Cuisine: Mediterranean 

Hidden away in a gorgeous hillside above the Adriatic, Draga di Lovrana offers breathtaking views and a mix of Italian and French cuisine.

The menu focuses on daily seafood catches, complimented by seasonal local fruits and vegetables and paired with regional wines. Chef Hari Benić pays homage to local ingredients while adding classic European sophistication to every dish.

6. Dubravkin Put

Location: Zagreb

Cuisine: Mediterranean

Just a few minutes away from Zagreb’s city centre, Dubravkin Put is a serene dining escape surrounded by greenery and forest. Originally designed as a wine bar, the vibe of the restaurant is cozy and modern with beautiful views.

Head chef Tibor Valinčić blends tradition and innovation as his Mediterranean-inspired menu features seafood and fresh season produce, accompanied by a carefully curated wine list.

7. Korak

Location: Jastrebarsko

Cuisine: Modern Contemporary Croatian

Located in a renowned winemaking region near Zagreb, Korak is a family-run gem offering a seasonal tasting menu that changes daily. It was the first fine dining restaurant in the region, a project of chef Bernard Korak, who got his experience at Dubravkin Put.

Dishes are deeply rooted in local tradition but presented with contemporary flair and paired perfectly with the estate’s wines.  

8. LD Terrace

Location: Korčula

Cuisine: Modern Mediterranean

Located in the old Lešić Dimitri Palace, with its terrace perched above the Adriatic, LD Terrace combines coastal beauty with culinary excellence.

Chef Marko Gajski uses fresh and seasonal island produce, offering a blend of innovation and Dalmatian tradition in every bite. Marko and sommeliers have developed a gastronomic identity that is rooted in the rich Dalmatian cuisine.

9. Nebo Restaurant and Lounge

Location: Rijeka

Cuisine: Modern Croatian  

On the top floor of the Hilton Costabella resort, Nebo is a rooftop fine dining experience led by Croatia’s youngest Michelin star head chef Deni Srdoč.

The tasting menu is inventive, blending both coastal and inland Croatian flavours. Multiple menu lengths are available to suit you desired dining experience, all while enjoying beautiful views of the Adriatic.

10. Noel

Region: Zagreb

Cuisine: Contemporary European

Noel was Zagreb’s first Michelin-starred restaurant and has retained its star for five consecutive years, solidifying its place as a fine dining leader in the capital.

With a modern and artistic approach, Chef Mario Mandarić’s and his team at Noel deliver bold, innovative flavours with excellent presentation and service.

11. Restaurant 360

Location: Dubrovnik

Cuisine: Modern

Tucked inside Dubrovnik’s ancient city walls, Restaurant 360 is as famous for its setting as it is for its cuisine. The view of the old town, sea and marina make this the ideal location for summer dining.

12. Pelegrini

Location: Šibenik

Located beside the UNESCO-listed Cathedral of St. James, Pelegrini is a pioneer of the new Croatian cuisine movement.

Chef Rudolf Štefan is in partnership with some of the best wine producers in the region creating the ultimate dining experience. Producing his own olive oil and utilising local fish and meats from Šibenik, he showcases a modern version of traditional Dalmatian cuisine.
