Thompson Returns: New Album and Record-Breaking Zagreb Concert Just 10 Days Away

With the news of Thompson’s returns, 130,000 tickets sold in the first six hours, 281,774 after 24 hours.

Only just weeks to go and excitement and anticipation is building for Marko Perković Thompson’s return to the stage in Zagreb at the Hipodrom this July.

With over 281,000 tickets sold and counting, the concert is set to break national records. It will cement Thompson’s legacy as one of the most influential voices in Croatian music. Fans from across the globe are drawn to what may become the largest single-artist concert in the region’s history.

The sheer scale of the event is turning it into a cultural phenomenon. It is one where music, memory, and national pride will echo far beyond the stadium.

The initial 281,774 tickets were sold out within 24 hours of ticket release. This led to a second release of 150,000 tickets becoming available.

These 150,000 tickets were snapped up within another 6 hours.

A third wave of tickets was quickly added to accommodate overwhelming interest. Thousands of fans are still hoping to secure their spot at this historical event.

Fans from across the globe have secured tickets to the Zagreb concert. However, it’s Croatians at home who make up the heart of the crowd. This shows just how deeply Thompson’s music resonates locally.

According to the Dubrovnik Times, the breakdown of the ticket distribution is as follows:

  • Croatia – 85%
  • Germany – 5.3%
  • Austria – 4.3%
  • Bosnia & Herzegovina – 2.4%
  • Switzerland – 1%
  • Slovenia – 1%

The remaining 1% of ticket sales comes from a combination of Australia, Russia, Argentina, the USA, and a few more.

“Hodočasnik”

Following the concert excitement, “Hodočasnik” (The Pilgrim) is Thompson’s first studio album in over a decade. It marks a powerful musical and personal return.

Blending his signature patriotic rock with deeper spiritual and emotional themes, the album explores faith, identity, and the Croatian journey. It does so through powerful lyrics and refined production.

As excitement builds for his record-breaking Zagreb concert, “Hodočasnik” stands as both a reflection of Thompson’s evolution and a tribute to the path that shaped him. This shaping was musically, culturally, and spiritually significant.

Early reactions praise its strong emotion, meaningful lyrics, and deep connection to Croatian identity.
