Western Knights SC last week paid tribute to a former team manager and longtime loyal supporter and member of the Perth based Croatian soccer club, who sadly passed away the previous weekend.
“It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to our dear friend, David Dragičević, who passed away on the morning of Sunday, June 1,” the club wrote in a post on its official Facebook page during the week.
The late David Dragičević, 57, was not only a passionate supporter of the Croatian community backed club, but he was also a longtime former first-team manager in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s.
“His dedication to the club and its members is something that will forever be remembered,” stated the Knights on Social Media.
Kind, loyal and compassionate friend
According to club president Dean Zlendić, David’s influence extended far beyond his role at the club.
“He was a kind, loyal, and a compassionate friend to all who knew him, always willing to lend a hand or share a laugh,” recalled the Western Knights president.
“As we reflect on his legacy, we are reminded of the countless memories we shared with David – the triumphs, the challenges, and the moments of joy that will live on in our hearts,” Zlendić continued.
“His presence will be deeply missed, but his impact will never fade.”

Western Australian sister club Gwelup Croatia also paid tribute to the late David Dragicevic, sending its condolences to everyone at the Knights in a social media post.
The Knights’ senior teams; League, Under 23’s, and Under 18’s, all wore black armbands and a minute’s silence was observed as a tribute to the late David Dragičević, at last Saturday’s NPL WA clash with the Greek community backed Floreat Athena at E & D Litis Stadium.
The Funeral Service for the late David Dragičević will be held next Tuesday the 17th of June at 1.30pm in the West Chapel of Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park, Whitfords Avenue, Padbury.
